Telangana’s 2nd tallest flag pole
DirectionThe stage is set for the inauguration of the State’s second tallest national flag in Kariamngar town. Karimnagar Municipal Corporation has decided to hoist the tricolor here on December 31.Though KMC authorities had decided to inaugurate flag pole before elections, they failed to do so due to model code of conduct.However, the KMC authorities are yet to name a chief guest for the event. However, it is speculated that TRS working president KT Rama Rao is most likely to be the chief guest.As part of the smart city programme, KMC authorities have decided to install the second tallest national flag in the heart of the town to inculcate patriotism among people.The multipurpose school ground of the Nizam-era, wherein a recreation park is also coming up, has been finalised as the venue to install the 150 feet flag pole by spending Rs 60 lakh.Finance Minister Etela Rajender had laid the foundation stone for the flag pole as well as the recreational park on July 28. According to the KMC authorities, works on the flag pole is complete and is ready to hoist the national flag.Speaking to Telangana Today, S Ravinder Singh said they have decided to inaugurate flag pole on December 31 since all works were completed and added that they were contemplating to invite KT Rama Rao as the chief guest but his appointment is yet to be finalised, he informed.
